Irene Weibel has been appointed VP, head of Nelvana Studio. Weibel will have overall responsibility for the development and production for all original productions from Nelvana. The well-respected industry veteran will oversee the studio’s creative direction, and will lead coordination of the development, series production, distribution and consumer products groups to launch new brands in the marketplace.

This appointment enables us to build on Nelvana’s track record of programming excellence and positions us optimally for even greater success in the international marketplace.”
Weibel formerly held the position of Vice President, International Production and Development for Nelvana. Prior to her positions at Corus Entertainment and Nelvana, she was Vice President of the WGBH/Sponsorship Group for Public Television. She will be based in Los Angeles and Toronto.
