DreamWorks Animation Television’s new CG-animated streaming series Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny is ready to unleash some serious martial arts moves on the small screen when it arrives on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, November 16. The first trailer for the show, which you can read more about in the December issue of Animation Magazine (coming soon), has just been revealed.
Set after the events of Kung Fu Panda 3, Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny follows the adventures of four energetic panda kids: Nu Hai, Bao, Jing and Fan Tong. After they stumble upon a mystical cave beneath Panda Village, the friends accidentally absorb the chi of ancient and powerful kung fu warriors known as the Four Constellations. Based on traditional Chinese astronomy, the Four Constellations — Blue Dragon, Black Tortoise, White Tiger and Red Phoenix — are said to have been the first warriors to achieve total mastery of chi. Dragon Master Po finds himself faced with his biggest challenge yet — teaching this ragtag band of kids how to wield their newfound powers to defeat Jindiao and save the world.
The series voice stars Chrissy Metz (This Is Us) as Mei Mei, Mick Wingert (Avengers Assemble) as Po, James Hong (Kung Fu Panda franchise) as Mr. Ping, Amy Hill (Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, 50 First Dates) as Grandma Panda, Haley Tju (Bella and the Bulldogs) as Nu Hai, Laya DeLeon Hayes (Doc McStuffins) as Jing, Gunnar Sizemore (Nashville) as Bao, and Makana Say as Fan Tong.
Paws of Destiny is from Emmy Award-winning exec producers Mitch Watson (All Hail King Julien), Elliott Owen (All Hail King Julien) and Lane Lueras (The Adventures of Puss in Boots).
