Two of Cartoon Network’s popular shows will be crossing over on Friday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. In the hour-long special Ben 10 / Generator Rex: Heroes United, two heroic teenagers, Ben Tennyson and Rex, team up to save both their worlds from an all-new evil menace.
So how do the show writers come up with a way for Ben and Rex to meet? Ben 10 is in the midst of a battle when he is dragged into a dimensional rift and sent spiraling into a strange alternate world where microscopic nanites infect every living creature on the planet: the world of Generator Rex! Fans will find out whether Ben’s alien transformations are any match for Rex’s power builds. They’ll also learn the identity of a mysterious villain who is threatening to take them down.
Both shows were created by the comic-book team known as Man of Action (Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle). Ben 10 premiered on Cartoon Network in April 2008, while Generator Rex first aired in April 2010. A CG-animated Ben 10 feature based on the original series is also slated for a 2012 release.
