Sardine Productions and Kutoka are set to bring edutainment software star Mia the mouse to TV with a new French-language series set to premiere Jan. 4 on ICI Radio-Canada and an accompanying app and website launching Dec. 30.
The 39 x 11 min. series features 6-year-old mouse Mia, who lives with her grandmother in the attic of a lovely Victorian house. Along with her friends and neighbors, Mia has adventures that always involve finding new and imaginative ways of transforming human objects.
The CGI series Mia is co-produced by Sardine Productions (Quebec) and Cyber Group Studios (France). It premiered on youth channel TiJi in France in October.
The free mobile app will be available for iPad and Android. Designed for ages 4 to 6, Mia — The Happy Helper! invites children to come on an adventure to help Mia complete a series of errands. Children can also play with Mia in ICI Radio-Canada’s Zone Jeunesse at: ici.radio-canada.ca/mia. The app and the website were jointly produced by Kutoka and Sardine Productions.
