Channel 5 has commissioned a new CG animated series called Shane the Chef for its Milkshake programming block. Produced by HoHo Entertainment (Cloudbabies, Abadas), the 52 x 11 preschool series is set to debut in the spring of 2017.
The show centers on energetic, ambitious chef Shane and his young daughter, Izzy, who run a restaurant in the town on Munchington. Every day is a recipe for adventure — whether Shane’s trying to set the world record for biggest baguette, searching the woods for wild herbs, or growing giant veg for the county fair.
“Children are just beginning to discover a real interest in what they eat at this age and can learn about all aspects of their food while having fun with Shane and Izzy,” says HoHo Ent. joint managing director Oliver Ellis. “Because Shane’s a chef, the series naturally has food at its core and, therefore, encourages greater food knowledge and promotes healthy eating with the audience.”
