Paris-based PlanetNemo has jointly tapped to Al Ovadia & Associates and Cartoon Consultants Group to represent its hit animated preschool property, Bali, for distribution and licensing for the U.S. The entities will explore opportunities in all varieties of media, including broadcast, home entertainment, motion pictures, licensing and merchandising, wireless and internet video-on-demand.
Based on a series of French children’s books by Magdalena and Laurent Richard, Bali is an award-winning series (26×30 or 52×11) that focuses on the little everyday traumas that kids go through. What Bali does in the individual episodes reflects what every child does in their day-to-day lives, and encourages them to use imagination to solve problems.
The show, which has been sold in more than 20 countries worldwide, received the top prize in animation at the 2005 MIPCOM Jr. and has seen the launch of a successful stage show in Paris.
