Square Roots: The Story of SpongeBob SquarePants. This insightful, clip-filled documentary produced by Christine Creadon and Patrick O’Malley (Wordplay) takes a look at the creative journey of SpongeBob creator Stephen Hillenburg and the artistic and cultural significance of the hit show. In other words, watch it, people! (Tuesday, July 14 at 9 p.m.)
50 Hours of Yellow Magic. Get ready for a 50-hour marathon of your favorite show, which begins with the premiere of To SquarePants or Not to SquarePants. In this historic episode, our hero’s pants shrink in the dryer, and he’s forced to wear round pants’an incident which has unexpected results. (Friday, July 17 at 8 p.m.)
