Universal Music Sells Uki to CBeebies

Universal Music has gotten into animation, selling a new series for preschoolers called Uki to CBeebies in the United Kingdom.

The series came out of Universal’s Belgium office and the minds of Patrick Busschots and Peter Decraene. The show stars Uki, a cute and curious little yellow character who gets into all kinds of fun situations.

The series consists of 52 five-minute episodes and will begin daily airing in September as part of the Show Me Show Me program.

The show is already airing in Belgium on children’s channels Ketnet and Club RTL, and has been sold into Australia, Portugal, Finland, Norway, Poland, Israel, South Africa, Taiwan, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Universal Music is handling all licensing for the show, with books, DVDs, greeting cards and plush toys set to appear at retail outlets in October.
